Like most kids, Devansh loves French fries, which he gets to eat sometimes when we eat out. At home, I prefer to make potato wedges for him cooked in less oil instead of deep-fried fries. Couple of months back, I tried adding honey to it, and Devansh and I loved the honey glazed potato wedges. I add a hint of chili flakes in the honey for Devansh’s potato wedges.
For the rest of us, I add chili flakes generously. Combination of honey and chili flakes tastes too good with this honey glazed potato wedges recipe.

My family and I love these less oily, honey glazed potato wedges as an evening snack. I plan to give these to Devansh in his tiffin for the small tiffin break once his school starts. Honey Glazed Potato Wedges Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 medium/large potatoes
- 2-3 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- salt to taste
- 1-2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Cook potatoes in a pressure cooker. (Don’t overcook them, they should still be firm after cooking. I cook them till 4 whistles.)
- After the cooked potatoes cool down, refrigerate them for an hour at least.
- Peel potatoes and cut them in wedges.
- Heat a pan, add oil, and then add potato wedges. (Depending on the pan size, you will need to cook the potato wedges in 2-3 batches. Add the other ingredients given above proportionately.)
- Cook till the wedges turn golden brown. (Flip them over intermittently till they turn crisp on both large sides.)
- Transfer the wedges onto a plate.
- Add honey in the same pan, and then add black pepper powder, salt, and chili flakes.
- Add in the potato wedges, and mix in without crumbling the wedges. Make sure all the wedges get coated with honey from all sides.
- Serve hot.

Notes
- You can omit chili flakes if you are making wedges for toddlers.You can add a pinch of red chili powder instead. Also, you may want to use less pepper powder.
- Kids like sweet potato wedges. But if you want to make these wedges for grownups who don’t like them too sweet, you can just add a hint of honey. To do this, use less honey and add a tsp of water along with it.
